The “Image Fulgurator” by Berlin-based artist Julius von Bismarck (which recently picked up a Golden NICA at this year’s Ars Electronica Festival) is a device that physically manipulates photographs by implanting messages onto the object being photographed. The device senses if a camera’s flash goes off and synchronizes a projection on the object being photographed at the same time. The result, as can be seen in the video on the site, is that tourists and others taking photos end up having bizarre images mapped onto their photos. Check out the details on how it works at the link below, and there’s even info about his patent application for the gadget.

| Rumor Killer: Alleged Images of 3G iPhone are Fake | Remember the image we showed you that was reportedly a spy shot of the 3G iPhone? We were skeptical at the time. Although the image didn’t have any tell-tale signs of being a Photoshop piece, it also just didn’t adhere to much of what we’ve heard about the upcoming case redesign of the iPhone 2. | Final Fantasy IV DS Screens Draw Tears [Gallery] | | Still the better part of a month away from release, the fact that Square Enix saw fit to tease us with these images from the DS remake of Final Fantasy IV is painful enough, but the image up at the top there was really mean. | MS Live Labs Creates Photosynth, make your own 3D panoramic images | Hot out of the Microsoft labs is a new web service called Photosynth. In short, it allows users to create panoramic images using their own 2-dimensional photographs. The really neat thing is that these images won’t be your standard, boring, linear panoramic displays. Instead, the effect will be like a real 360-degree rendering of the [...]
