Keeping with the iPhone app theme, you’ve been living on Mars if you haven’t already read about 50,000 blog posts complaining about the lack of copy / paste functionality on the iPhone. Apple’s “iPhone as a business device” commercial has started running regularly now on a variety of networks but the lack of some very basic functionality is going to make for a load of unhappy business users. “You mean I can’t copy text from one email and paste it into another?!?” iPhone app development house Proximi is doing its part however, as it demos what should have been available on the iPhone from day one. MagicPad isn’t magic, it’s common sense. Currently awaiting Apple’s approval for App Store distribution, MagicPad is a note-taking app that includes a handful of basic ‘word processor’ functionality such as the ability to change font size / color and yes, copy / paste functionality. Of course copying and pasting text is limited in this application as you can only copy text within MagicPad and paste it within MagicPad. Hardly a solution or even a band aid for the problem really. In any event, check out the video above and see what it looks like when the iPhone performs a necessary yet missing function that has been around, well, forever.

Thanks to the windfall of Storm documents obtained yesterday, the often asked question about how copy and paste works on the Storm can finally be answered. So the iPhone was first released about 15 months ago. We’re now on the second generation of the handset and we can pretty much all agree that the iPhone 3G is still lacking in many of the areas where the original fell short. Yes, thankfully the iPhone 3G received some much needed love from third-party [...] [..] Read complete article

Sometimes it's fun to play a few rounds of Who's Not Crediting Us Now, don't you think? Sure, I spend a good portion of my day filtering other people's work, in addition to hunting down original stories, but there's always an attempt to give credit where credit is due when someone from 1UP or NeoGAF or [..] Read complete article
