Good morning and welcome to Grand Theft Auto IV's official launch day. The game is, as Rockstar just emailed us to say, now available worldwide. So far, from what we've seen, had tipped to us and read elsewhere, it looks like the game's various overnight launches were mostly problem free. Sure there was the occasional bit of shoving, and boredom, but nothing serious.
The Rockstar folks are giddy with both the reception and, I suspect, the likelihood of taking daily money baths starting today.
"This release marks a major milestone for the series and for Rockstar Games," said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. "Grand Theft Auto IV delivers on the vision we had when we began work on the game more than three years ago. Rockstar North has created an amazing interactive entertainment experience. We hope it will resonate with our audience around the world for years to come."
Instead of filling our page with pictures of worldwide launches for the game, I've decided to compile a sampling of the galleries here. Hit the various links to check out each locations full story, or picture fest.
Hit up our grand Grand Theft Auto IV FAQ for everything you've ever want to know about the game, including our review and PS3/360 comparisons. You can also drop questions in there for us to answer about the game if you have them.
