el 04-May-2009 |  Curious about Hideo Kojima's attempt to bring the Metal Gear series to the iPhone, but hate spending eight bucks to satisfy your curiosity? You're in luck, because the "Lite" demo version is now available.
Metal Gear Solid Touch Lite brings the thrill of Solid Snake shooting at things to your iPhone, for free. Featuring a handful of levels from the now-complete full price version, the 84.8 MB trial version should give iPhone owners a solid sense of how the full version plays. If the bandwidth isn't worth it to you, you can read our much "liter" Metal Gear Solid Touch review, which weighs in at just 20 KB, JPEGs not included. Earlier this month, we reported on a widely circulated rumor that Metal Gear Solid may be coming to the Xbox 360. Variations of this rumor suggested that Konami had, not an Xbox 360 title in store for the gaming world, but an iPhone/iPod Touch version as evidenced by the “mgst” in the teaser URL at [...] [..] 
With Metal Gear Solid Touch dropping next Wednesday, Konami decided to push out one more round of screen shots in an effort to rekindle interest as the company prepares to finally release its first crack at MGS for Apple handsets. Konami also reiterated release details as follows:

Hideo Kojima said that we'd still have a couple week's worth of speculation on what "A Next Metal Gear Is...", but rumored scans from Famitsu may have spoiled it. It's Metal Gear. For the iPhone. Or at least that's what this scan, supposedly from the newest issue of Famitsu Weekly [..]
