 Universal Music Group (GE) is considering an equity stake in music-sales site Nimbit, according to Digital Music News. Documents obtained by the Web site said the label, particularly its senior executives, might invest $3 million. Nimbit allows artists to sell digital and physical music, merchandise and tickets to fans.
If the deal takes place, it will make Universal's fourth music-site investment since mid-April, joining stakes in digital label INgrooves and music-community sites MOG and Buzznet.
