Send to email | Update: Sony changes course in News | By Joshua Karp el 21-Mar-2008 |
Remember that ridiculous $50 fee Sony was charging to remove crapware from their Vaio laptops? You know, the one we told you about this morning? It seems that Sony heard the rumbling of discontent from deep within the blogosphere. The company has just released the following statement:
“Starting March 22, Sony will offer Fresh Start free of charge. We want VAIO users to have the best experience possible with our PCs, and we believe Fresh Start will help ensure that happens right out-of-the-box.”
Not too shabby! You’ll still have to specify the "Fresh Start" option during the checkout process, but if you were in the market for a new Vaio, we’d highly suggest taking Sony up on their oh-so-kind offer. Now if only we could get such a timely response from several other companies out there…HTC, anybody?
